Poppy Room Our Two Year Olds

Once a child is 2 years of age, they will enter our Poppy Room, this will be a gradual process from Daisy Room, here they will learn new skills and will be encouraged to be more independent. The staff will work with parents to support toilet training and independent feeding.  Activities are planned around the children’s interests with the emphasis placed on play.  The children have the opportunity to explore role-play, messy play, puzzles, games, books, stories and music. We encourage them to think, consider, solve problems, be independent and become confident in their own abilities.

Reporting on your child's development

Each child is allocated a key person who will help your child to settle into nursery and monitor your child's progress in all areas of development by compiling an Early Years Profile.  

Your child's Profile is available for parents to view at any time.

The nursery holds a parents' evening to discuss your child's development each academic year.

You will receive a written report on your child's development each year.
