I hold B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, a post graduate teaching certificate in Higher Education from University College London, and a PhD in International Development from the London South Bank University. I am a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a member of Development Studies Association, UK .

In my PhD research, I examined the impact of social capital, especially in cooperatives, on farmers’ uptake of technological innovations in rural southwest Nigeria. . I also examined the role of institutional factors, including markets, property rights and access to capital, on the success of adopted innovations. I am currently conducting an impact study of entrepreneurship interventions undertaken by the Centre for African Entrepreneurship and Leadership between January 2012 and November 2014. These interventions included, among other things, entrepreneurship trainings, entrepreneurship curriculum reform, research and leadership trainings, and other knowledge transfer activities.
