Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Faculty of Science and Engineering. ‌

As a university and as a faculty, we are pivotally positioned in the rebuilding of the technological/scientific capacity vital for the regeneration of engineering and related expertise in our country. We are dedicated to this project and our excellent staff work tirelessly to this aim.

The Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Wolverhampton offers innovative courses and collaboration in the nationally significant areas of Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Technology and the Build Environment. We have built on our rich and long history of technology, teaching and local skills provision to become a significant player in the high-tech reskilling that is of national importance. Leading companies such as Morgan, Jaguar Land Rover, Moog, UTC Aerospace Systems work closely with us because we provide the skilled graduates necessary in the Science/Technology/Engineering resurgence.

Our academic, technical and auxiliary staff support undergraduate and post -graduate courses which provide students a rich immersion in academic study, personal growth, skills expertise and work flexibility. We encourage life, work and business competency. We train scientists, engineers and designers of the environment; but in that process, we also train entrepreneurs and workers who can adapt to constantly changing demands and scenarios.

Our Faculty offers good research possibilities; in this we build on our wide range of staff expertise, state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities. Because we work so closely with industry leaders, our research opportunities feed into national and global relevance and employability.

We continue, as part of the University’s ambitious investment programme, to make significant investments in our Faculty and students. In addition to the state-of-the-art Rosalind Franklin Science Building, we are investing £10 million in engineering at Telford Innovation Campus and developing the new Springfield Campus, a £65 million jointly funded centre of excellence for construction and the built environment.

Students who choose to study with us can expect an enhanced learning and training environment, excellent facilities and interaction with students from around the globe.

If you are interested in more details of studying with us, collaboration or consultancy for our extensive expertise, please contact the faculty office. We are here to help!

Kind Regards

Professor Nazira Karodia

Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering
