Graduate success

Across our three academic Schools we have a rich history of successful alumni who have gone on to enjoy wide and varied creative careers. In the videos below we hear from some of our rising stars: 

Sarah Byrne, BA/MA Fine Art graduate 2019

Artist Sarah Byrne exhibited in New Art West Midlands x Coventry Biennial 2019. Having recently completed her Masters degree at the University of Wolverhampton, she has gone on to undertake a residency at The New Art Gallery Walsall. New Art West Midlands caught up with her to find out more about her practice, and her approaches to the residency on site and during lockdown.

Ryan Jones, Visual Communication graduate 1994

Ryan Jones graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 1994 and has gone on to have a long and varied graphic design career; both agency and freelance, working for some of the World's top brands.

Here he talks about his time at the University and how it set him on the road to a successful career in creative design.

Tasha Msanide, Musical Theatre graduate 2015

Tasha is a Digital Marketing Officer at the Bush Theatre, London. She tells us how her time at the University of Wolverhampton, studying for her degree, has helped shape her career so far.

Cheryl Jones, Fine Art (Painting) graduate 2000

Cheryl graduated from the School of Art in 2000 and is now Director of the Grand Union art gallery in Digbeth, Birmingham. She credits her time at the University for widening her experience and enjoyment of all art forms as well as just painting.

Amy G, Musical Theatre graduate 2017

Amy graduated from Musical Theatre in 2017 and got straight into gigging. She now makes her living from being a professional singer and credits her tutors from Wolverhampton in helping her to succeed.

Jason Barlow, Computer Games Design graduate 2011

Jason Barlow graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 2011 and is now using the skills learned on his degree to lead a team of animators and 3D artists at a virtual reality simulation company.

 

Helen Calcutt, Creative and Professional Writing and Philosophy, 2010

Helen, who is expecting her second child, is a poet, writer and dance artist. She has had two poetry collections published and she also writes for the Guardian and Huffington Post. She describes her experience at University as the gateway to her professional career.

Ravi Maheru graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 2011 and is now using the skills learned on his degree at a virtual reality simulation company.
