Advice for Undergraduate Applicants

Road to Reopening @WLV

We are doing everything we can to limit any impact recent events may have on applicants to study at the University of Wolverhampton.

Our Admissions teams are working hard to process all applications and provide decisions as soon as possible. Please acknowledge that the speed of our decision making may be slightly slower than normal, as we balance the wellbeing and support of our staff, with the level of applications and enquiries we typically receive at this time of the year.

If any of these details change, we will communicate directly with all relevant applicants and stakeholders.

Yes we are taking applications as normal. Please see further information and advice on applying to the university here: https://www.wlv.ac.uk/apply/how-to-apply/.

A key benefit to using the Helpdesk is that it's very easy to track, update and have a record of your query and our responses.

On 8 June 2020, the UK government implemented a policy of self-isolation for anyone arriving in the UK. The aim is to help manage the risks to public health from coronavirus (Covid-19).

We recommend that you refer to the UK Government Guidelines before you travel.  Currently, students arriving in the UK are required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days unless they are travelling from a country which is listed in Coronavirus (COVID-19) travel corridors (for England).

We recommend that you refer to the UK Government Guidelines.

Please note the following key Information and guidance regarding Self-isolation for new arrivals in the UK as per the government’s advice. The general principles are that:

  • it applies to all arrivals to the UK from countries that are not on the exempt lists
  • all students arriving in to the UK, regardless of nationality or the country of origin, MUST complete a Passenger Locator Form before travelling to the UK, listing the address of the nominated place of self-isolation.
  • all students required to self-isolate when they arrive in the UK will need to give details of the accommodation in which they plan to self-isolate, so please be sure to have these details arranged when you complete the form.
  • individuals must bring a copy of the Passenger Locator Form with them (either printed or electronic), and they should travel directly to their isolation accommodation.
  • anyone required to self-isolate should not leave their identified accommodation for any reason until the self-isolation period (currently 14 days) is complete
  • compliance with the self-isolation is a personal responsibility – and failure to comply with the requirements is an offence and can result into a fine, payable by the individual

Once you have completed 14 days self isolation, you can collect your  BRP from the post office. You can then add this to the UKVI section and complete enrolment.

Please note if you are waiting to upload your BRP, you can still access CANVAS and start your lessons.

On E-vison there is a tab to request a bank letters, this can only be done once you fully enrolled. The letter will be sent to your term address.

Download myWLVmyWLV is where you will find your personalised timetable. It also offers you information about assessment deadlines, email, VLE topic subscriptions, and links to key resources.

Once you have enrolled and registered for your modules this year, you will be able to view your WLV Welcome Topic in Canvas.  This includes useful information to get you started with your University life, from how your teaching and learning works (particularly in the current climate), IT and library facilities, support for your health and wellbeing and everything the Students' Union has to offer.

Please note if you are waiting to upload your BRP, you can still access CANVAS and start your lessons.
