The International Fair 2016 was held on Friday 22nd April 2016 11am - 3pm outside Lord Swraj Paul & Mary Secole buildings, City Campus, Molineux.

The University of Wolverhampton has once again celebrated diversity and international culture at its annual International Fair. The Event, which took place in the Courtyard situated outside the Lord Swraj Paul and Mary Seacole Buildings at the University’s City Campus, ran for most of the day, welcoming visitors from all backgrounds.  The day was also an opportunity to commemorate the Vaisakhi Festival as part of the worldwide celebrations. Activities included international stalls, live music, and performances from Bollywood, Bhangra, Flamenco, Chinese, Afro Caribbean and Morris dancers.

The fair saw over 25 countries being represented, Afganistan, Brazil, Brunei, Cameroon, Caribbean, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Greece, India, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Portugal, Spain, Sudan, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Tunisa, UK, USA and Zimbabwe.  The Mayor and Mayoress of Wolverhampton were also in attendance, officially opening the fair and joining in with the festivities.  The aim of the event was to give staff and students the opportunity to share their cultures through food, dance and traditions, with activities demonstrating many of the different nationalities that make up the University of Wolverhampton.

Derek Walton, Head of the International Centre at the University said: “The University of Wolverhampton is International, with more than 2000 International students studying in the Black Country.  “The students bring a diversity and vibrancy which begins in the Campus and spreads throughout the Region, and the Fair helps to showcase what they add to our community.”
