Parental Consent Required for Overseas Applicants Under the Age of 18

The University of Wolverhampton admits a small number of applicants each year who are not aged 18 or over on the first day of their study programme.

The University will initially assess applications from those applicants in accordance with general admissions policy and achievement of relevant entry requirements.

We are able to process applications for applicants under the age of 18 providing they fit into the below categories -

Undergraduate degrees

Where an applicant will be 18 years or older at the start of the second semester of study*, they may be admitted on receipt of a satisfactory Parental/Guardian Consent Form.

As part of the UKVI guidelines, the University must keep a copy of a letter from an applicant’s parents or legal guardian that should consent to the following –

  • Arrangements for the applicant’s application
  • Arrangements for the applicant’s travel to the UK
  • Arrangements for the applicant’s reception in the UK

Applicants will be requested to provide this letter of consent as part of the conditions of their offer.  They must also provide a copy of their birth certificate to verify that the letter is from their parents.

Below is further information that may help clarify what a parent/legal guardian must consider in their letter of consent and assist in the applicant’s arrangements
