International Applications

The University of Wolverhampton welcomes applications from all over the world, we have extensive experience in processing international applications and assessing overseas qualifications.

If you are thinking about applying as an overseas applicant please see the 'Making your application' page in our International section.

The below are standard offer requirements for International applicants (please be aware that each offer is unique and may not solely be limited to just the below)

We have extensive experience in processing overseas qualifications and will use our own internal knowledge bank in conjunction with up-to-date information from UK Naric to make an accurate assessment to check that your qualifications meet the requirements for your chosen course.

All students must demonstrate that they meet the minimum English Language requirements in order to be admitted to the University of Wolverhampton.

The standard requirement for the majority of University of Wolverhampton undergraduate programmes (NQF 06 and above) is IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each area or equivalent qualifications. Some courses require a higher level of English, please check individual course requirements to confirm the English Language requirement.

For courses below degree level (below NQF 06) a satisfactory UKVI Secure English Language Test (SELT) will be required where Tier 4 sponsorship is needed.

All overseas applicants are required to provide a satisfactory personal statement as part of the application process. Please see our personal statement section for support and guidance.

All overseas applicants are required to pay a £3,000 deposit (unless stated otherwise) or provide a satisfactory Financial Guarantee from your Embassy / Sponsor.

Please see the Fees and costs section for further information.

Where previous study has taken place in the UK we will normally request evidence of your UK visa history and in some cases we may need your written consent to conduct a UKVI Immigration History check. This is so we can be sure you meet the academic progression and credibility requriements set by UKVI under their Student Route rules and regulations.

For visa and immigration advice please see the 'Visa and Immigration' section.

Where previous study has taken place at the same or a lower level either in the UK or your home country you will need to include satisfactory justification in your personal statement explaining the reasons for wanting to apply for a course at this level.
