The UCAS tariff explained

You will see that most of our courses ask for a certain number of UCAS tariff points for entry.

At the University of Wolverhampton, we ask for specific minimum grades rather than UCAS Tariff points; however, the UCAS tariff is a useful reference table, as it allows you to see if your achievements meet the qualification requirements for a particular course where the requirement may be quoted in points. It covers A-levels, AS-levels, and BTEC qualifications, and new qualifications are being added all the time, so if you hold a qualification that is not listed on our website, the UCAS Tariff will allow you to understand its equivalency.

Visit UCAS Tariff to compare your qualifications.

For a lot of our non-professional courses (those that are not accredited by an external body), if your qualifications aren’t listed, or your grades fall a bit short, don’t worry. We can give you guidance and offers will be made according to your individual experience, and we are often able to offer you an alternative course, if we are unable to accept you onto your first choice.

Here's a Tariff point calculator. Enter your qualification and grade to get a rough idea of how many points you have.
