South Asian Representation in Musical Theatre

ArtsFest Online is pleased to present a talk with Dr James Lovelock and Sejal Keshwala. In this talk Sejal and James will discuss South Asian representation in musical theatre, including Sejal's roles in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Anita and Me and Bend It Like Beckham.
Sejal Keshwala is an actress, singer and session vocalist from London. Sejal has a Bachelors in Music and a Masters in Musical Theatre. Her versatility has garnered her experience in a range of genres from jazz, pop, soul, RnB, classical, cabaret, hip hop and musical theatre. She has a natural flair for harmonies, sight-reading and vocal arranging. Her distinct husky tone, vocal acrobatics and three and a half octave range stand her out from the crowd.
Since graduating from the Guildford School of Acting, she has worked both as an actress and singer on the stage and screen. Some of her theatre credits include the UK tour of ‘Anita and Me’, the world premiere of ‘Trident Moon’ and ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ at the Phoenix Theatre. Sejal most recently played Ray in ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ at the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End.
