High profile business leader gives food for thought in free virtual talk

Dr Wouhra’s considerable experience of business and leadership skills will be highly motivating for students and staff alike.

After completing his law degree in 1998, Dr Wouhra OBE went on to join the family firm of EAST END FOODS. The company is renowned as a high quality provider of Indian foods and spices, with products sold in all major supermarkets across the UK. Jason has recently established Lioncroft Wholesale Limited and re-purchased East End Foods’ wholesale division. This new business will continue to build on the already strong heritage under the “East End Wholesale Stores” name.

Jason has ambitions to grow the wholesale division substantially over the next few years. Dr Wouhra Beame the youngest and first BAME chairman of the Institute of Directors in the West Midlands in 2013. He has many advisory roles, which include being the Vice Chair of the Centre for Sikh and Panjabi Studies at the University of Wolverhampton. Other prominent positions include non-executive director of University Hospitals

Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as well as past and present chairmanships of the West Midlands India Partnership, Library of Birmingham Advisory Board, Birmingham Child Poverty Commission, Aston University Development Board and vice chair of the Black Country LEP.

Opinderjit Kaur Takhar is an internationally recognised researcher within Sikh Studies and Director of the Centre for Sikh and Panjabi Studies at the University of Wolverhampton.
