Defend yourself against Phishing, use three random words, keep your devices and software up-to-date, report it! It’s all on the new website!

We have a new website dedicated to cyber security advice and guidance wlv.ac.uk/info-sec

The resources on this website are aligned to the latest advice and guidance from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The ‘big four’ areas are:

Create strong passwords using four random words. Using this approach, you are creating a password that will be ‘strong enough’ to keep the criminals out, but easy enough for you to remember.

Don’t take the bait. Defend yourself against Phishing and fake email/website attacks.

Update your devices, operating systems and applications. Applying these updates is one of the most important (and quickest) things you can do to keep yourself safe online.

Report it! If you see something that makes you suspicious or worried, you can report it using the ‘report Phishing’ button in your email window, or let the IT support team know using the support portal.
