IT services recovery progress update: Accommodation and campus Wi-Fi

We are pleased to report that students living in our accommodation across all three campuses should now be able to access Wi-Fi. 

We are in the process of installing some MiFi hot spots in some public areas across the University estate, listed below. This will provide limited internet access in the short term.

Each unit can support up to 64 connections. The access code will be displayed at each location for you to be able to connect your personal device. Please note, you will need to be within relatively close range of the MiFi unit to sustain connection.  

MiFi unit locations 

City Campus 

  • MX conservatory area and welcome point on the ground floor
  • MU - 2nd floor coffee area
  • each floor of the library

Springfield

  • Ground Floor coffee area

Walsall Campus 

  • GO coffee area and refectory

Telford Campus 

  • Main refectory

Students' Union

  • Social open spaces either side of the main corridor
