Careers in the NHS

The NHS Futures Zone aims to support local people to explore careers and discover the diversity of roles within the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust; inspiring local people to choose a career within the NHS.

The NHS Futures Zone team have their own Youtube Playlist where they share pre-recorded video, such as department tours and "Day in the Life of" videos.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust have launched a new careers advice service for both internal staff, who are looking to develop or change career, and members of the public, who are looking to join The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

This NHS careers local advice service is called “Ask Oli” and is accessible via email at ask.oli@nhs.net

Beacon FREE videos guides:

 

Beacon have a Digital Inclusion Project for Wolverhampton Residents.

This is aimed at supporting people from Wolverhampton who have sight loss or any other long term disability to become or remain digitally active and help with any support/training they may need.

This includes support with:

  • using mobile phones/tablets/ipads/laptops
  • accessibility features/software issues etc.
  • Helping them to reduce social isolation
  • develop skills in using IT
  • improve confidence when using IT
  • Enable them to participate in zoom activities, use social media, book appointments, on-line shopping etc.

Beacon also run two employment support projects (Pathway To Reablement and BBO Bridges) where people who are looking for help or advice with regards to employment, training, volunteer opportunities, as well as general IAG can also register with Beacon (at no cost) and Beacon can help support you in whatever capacity you may require.

Again these projects are aimed at people with sight loss but we can also register people who have any other health conditions or disabilities.

Storytelling

This story book sensitively address a topic of mental health for children.  This book could be used for starting conversations and talking about more difficult topics with children.

University of Wolverhampton students created this illustrated story. Logan Peters, studying for a degree in Illustration in the Wolverhampton School of Art, and Jessica Davies, studying for a degree in Creative and Professional Writing in the School of Humanities, collaborated on the creative work which talks about mental health in children in an accessible and sensitive way.
