Summary: Electronic devices reported stolen on the University campus 

Request:   

• Please provide me with the total number of electronic devices reported lost or stolen within your organisation over the last five calendar years (2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017)   
• Example:   
• 2020  

• 15 Laptops reported stolen, 34 lost  
• 13 Mobile phones reported stolen 130 lost  
• 40 Tablet computers reported stolen, 200 lost   
• Please also provide an estimated cost per device.  

Response:  

In accordance with Section 1(1)(a) of the FOIA, I can confirm that the University does hold the requested information, in part, as some of the information pertaining to the scope of your request does not exist. I have decided to disclose the requested information, which does exist, in full.   

Information regarding the estimated costs of each lost of stolen device is not held in our central records. This decision has been made after all reasonable steps have been taken to locate the requested information. Whilst I acknowledge that it is the principle object of the FOIA to provide public access to documents, I am satisfied that the requested information does not exist.
