The resources and equipment in Animation fully support the aspiration for high end productions to be created. Students are encouraged to work to industry standard and aspire to award winning animations.

 

Facilities include

  • A dedicated studio developed to replicate a professional configuration that is equipped with 25 workstations
  • 2 screen setups for both production and post production runs to occur
  • Production cycle software applications – CGI software Maya 3D, and 3D Studio Max as well as Toon Boom Studio, Flash, After Effects and the full Adobe CS suite
  • A 2D capture area where line testing through to full productions can be achieved Dedicated blue and green screens and portable motion capture rig
  • A stop motion space that can be used to facilitate puppet and model animation production
  • Fully equipped drawing and life studios

New £5m Screen School

Wolverhampton Screen School will be the ambitious epicentre for stimulating screen based culture, education, research and industrial development within the region and beyond.

Students also have full access to a range of high-end audio and video recording facilities through our Media store.

In Addition

We have a specialist in-house digital printing service – the Print Support Hub. Alongside a Media Store with dedicated kit for Animation students. We even have our own Art Materials Shop, which stocks an extensive range of art materials.

Print Support Hub 

The Print Support Hub is a technically supported, open access area. It offers all School of Art students a range of specialist printers that are capable of printing onto a vast array of different materials.

Including:

  • A3 Risograph printer
  • 2 medium format high-end Epson printers (A4, A3, A3+ and A2)
  • Large format thermal lithographic printer
  • Large Format Mimaki textile printer
  • Large Format Mimaki textile printer

The room also offers two large format scanners that will scan artwork up to A0 size.
