Title of Piece: Huf Haus Evolved

Statement:

My Final major project was inspired with how technology is evolving yet how the worlds economic wealth is being destroyed. My goal was to come up with a house that could be changed with ease, where waste would be lowered, and how technology can be integrated.

The Huf Haus is already a lovely building, allowing light to flood into a house, so why not take advantage of a pre-existing design and make it into something more. Using smart glass windows and smart home devices, I designed the building to be easily decorated and altered, privacy to be controlled, safety at 100%, no longer would there be need for things like curtains or wallpaper, it can all be changed via the smart home integrated system – all on your phone.

My plans now moving forward are to get a job in a company that are willing to help broaden my creativity and help me learn - mould me into a better designer. I want to be the full package and do interior design, graphical work and eventually architecture. Once I have mastered all of this, I then wish to pass my knowledge onto the next generation in hope they will better me.

My Experience:

University for me has been a brilliant experience, where I have made life long friends. Without the University of Wolverhampton, I wouldn’t of had the opportunity to see some of the top designers gathered into one event, such as the Dutch design week in 2019. I saw some phenomenal work and opened my ‘designer’ eyes into more possibilities, seeing how different materials could change the way we build walls, how we recycle, how art can evolve. I would of never known about DDW without this university, I wouldn’t have had made the friends I have and had the support off of staff so kind to me.

With the lockdown it has been hard, but if it wasn’t for the quick thinking and preparation the staff had made and their loyalty to make sure we did our work to the best we could, I would of never been able to come out with the work I have now. I’m thankful for what they have done for us students, and appreciate all they have done regarding our wellbeing’s and studies.
