Title of Piece: Distorted Lights

Statement:

My final major project Distorted Lights takes inspiration from light and movement to create dynamic super bright prints with a graphic 90’s vibe. I have been designing for contract spaces such as bars and clubs.  To create this collection I was printing onto a variety of surfaces such as glass, Perspex and plastic.  However due to the pandemic I could not do this.

Instead my final designs were made from a mix of my previous screen-printed designs which were then digitally manipulated online via Photoshop and illustrator. Some others were created from my hand-rendered designs and then manipulated and then the other ones were made online from scratch to produce fresh new content for this interior collection.

For the future I would love to be a part of the printed textiles and surface pattern industry. I would love to gain experience in the industry. So I would like to do internships then hopefully get a really good job in the textiles industry

My Experience:

My favourite experiences on the course were when we went on the University minibus and went to Misan fabrics. Having a laugh while fabric shopping was a good memory.  Also learning something new every day in the studio and workshops are something I will never forget.

Lastly I loved attending the London Print Design fair.  Talking to people already working in the industry and learning more about the industry for when I graduate was really interesting and eye opening.
