Title of Piece: Deconstructed Florals Collection

Statement:

My final collection was based on the idea of Deconstructed Florals, this was something I took inspiration from and made my own meaning of. I created two collections based off of this topic, those being nightwear and swimwear both of which took their own spin on Deconstructed Florals. I looked into the idea of making florals my own and looking at ways in which they suited the product area I was working towards. Both collections are ones that I am really proud and feel show off my design skills well.

In the near future I will be continuing with higher education, by moving onto the Textiles MA course which is something I hope will help me with setting up my own business one day.

My Experience:

Some of my favourite experiences during my time on the course included a trip to Paris where we explored the sights visiting the grand, Musée d’Orsay and the Première Vision Event which showcased a wide range of textiles designers work which was something I was really inspired by, fashion fabrics and much more. Another trip I really enjoyed was a visit to London, exploring the fabrics shops, visiting the Textiles museum, and browsing around the amazing Liberty store for inspiration.

I have found my three years on the course challenging at times from a design perspective but something that has really helped to define my style as a designer and help me grow as an individual. Getting to meet amazing, creative people along the way and receiving great support off experienced tutors really made my degree enjoyable.
