Ravnita Rayet

Wolverhampton School of Art / Student Case Studies / Ravnita Rayet

Based in the West Midlands, Ravnita graduated from Animation in 2014 and went on to work as a content creator for a fashion company.

In 2018 Ravnita co-founded an independent creative studio, Wah Wah Lab - specialising in brand and digital design. She has worked with some really cool clients like Nike, Harvey Nicols, Puma and Timberland. A handful of these involved making in-store appearances customising footwear, clothing and beauty products for brand events.

We caught up with Ravnita to discuss what she is up to now, her favourite aspect of the course and her advice to current students.

Ravnita Rayet BA (Hons) Animation graduate, Wolverhampton School of Art, University of Wolverhampton

Hi, I’m Ravnita! I’m a West Midlands based illustrator, animator and designer. I specialise in digital illustration, but I love to experiment on canvas with acrylics and can also customise on pretty much anything!

I have had the pleasure to work with some really cool people like Nike, Timberland and Harvey Nichols.

I worked as a content creator for a fashion company before diving into the world of self-employment in 2018. I’m now the co-founder of an independent creative studio and have had the pleasure to work with some really cool people/brands along the way. I recently started a brand of customised thrifted clothing too.

Animation Studies unlocked so many skills I never knew I was capable of achieving and creating. It taught me to step out of my comfort zone and take on new challenges, yet still have fun with it. The lecturers made me feel at ease when it was deadline time and always offered that extra helping hand during times of struggle and uncertainty.

The lectures were a place to hang out, experiment and learn new things - all whilst having the best time, surrounded by a bunch of creatives just having fun.

Oh and I'll never forget I won the end of year award for the most talkative... that was definitely for me bombarding the lecturers with 1001 questions!

I'm so grateful for the skills I picked up on this course and for the mentors that brought the best out of me.

10/10 would recommend ;)

You'll have the best time! As long as you work hard as well as playing hard, it'll be a memory you'll never forget. Ask questions, connect with people and have fun.

You never know when you're going to create your best work, so be willing to experiment.
