Victoria Davenport

"I am a creatively inclined individual with a passion for photo manipulation, and this is where my appreciation for graphic design started. From an early age, I've always been interested in creativity, through music, textiles, and art. In my formative years and spare time, I re-designed well-known books/original titles to improve my design skills before opting to study graphics at university. My approach to the creative process, starts with visual research, and I investigate the work of designers and try to draw visual inspiration from the places around me. My influences stem from visuals that I surround myself with, from the design that I see when I'm out and about in my spare time to the designers that I follow on social media, as well as established practitioners like David Carson and April Greiman. I have developed an interest in many areas of graphic design including book covers, posters, design, illustration, logos, packaging, and branding. My career aspiration is to work alongside other creatives in a lively studio environment. My favourite aspect of the course is that all students are encouraged to have their own individual style, design approach, and ideas. Working with live briefs gave me experience of what working in a design studio would be like, pitching to clients and a familiarity with professional terminology.
