Martin Stewart

"I am an expressive, optimistic, outgoing graphic designer who likes to inspire people around me. Website: https://martin-stewart.myportfolio.com/ Instagram: @martinstewart_designs Email: martin_stewart19@hotmail.com"

My background is third generation of Afro Caribbean grandparents who came to the UK in the 1950s, and my parents are both Black British. My grandfather’s profession was a guillotine engineer, and my father is a lecturer in engineering, and I have been exposed to their knowledge and experience. As a reliable, sensible, and dependable person, my peers, friends, and family rely on the honesty of my opinions because I believe in always speaking my truth. I know what is important to me and I decided to pursue my passion a degree in graphic design. As a graphic designer, I would describe myself as being positive and focus driven, and I respect everyone I encounter, whether I agree or disagree with their beliefs and values. My aspiration is to become a junior graphic designer where I can learn new skills and gain more experience. After a few years of experience in the industry, I may consider freelancing full time, but for now, I aim to learn as much as I can. In my opinion, the weekly group critique sessions are the best aspect of the graphics course at Wolverhampton. Ongoing feedback allows us to get opinions from other graphic designers about our work, and these sessions helped me to improve my work and to maximise the potential of my ideas.
