"My name is Hannah Ahmed and I am an expressive individual with a passion for art in general. Growing up, I was always interested in anything and everything art wise from photo manipulation to video editing and illustration, so from there, some of the first Adobe software I began to teach myself was Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I primarily used Sony Vegas Pro for video editing and have taught myself it from the age of 14 but it wasn’t until college when I started using Premiere Pro and that’s where my passion for illustration, video and photo editing came from. I am a visual person, so great design is really important for me. I aspire to create anything and everything that is visually appealing for people to look at such as branding, packaging design, illustrations and motion graphics. The designers I look up to and take inspiration from are Paula Scher and Josef Muller-Brockmann, but it all depends on the type of project I am doing. My career aspiration is to become a brand designer or a motion graphics designer. I find those elements of graphic design very interesting. Branding covers every aspect of design such as packaging, logo design, typography etc. which I am highly interested in. My favourite aspect of the course is the live briefs and having the opportunity to work with live clients and design agencies as it really gives an insight into what it’s really like to work in a graphic design studio or as a freelancer. It teaches us things such as how to deal with clients and the type of critique I would receive in my career, which is very useful to keep in mind when attending interviews and looking for jobs in general."
