“A Retrospective Analysis of Mobile Technology and Communication. As an artist, my work aims to explore the implications of the increasing integration of mobile technology within our normal every-day lives, and the ways in which this is affecting how we communicate, interpret and understand the world around us. Moreover, I also aim to highlight the affect this has on our relationships with these devices and how they can alter our everyday lives and our relationships with others outside of our digital world. Mobile technology is fundamentally changing the manner in which we communicate and understand one another. Utilizing a variety of different mediums within my practise, including both traditional and digital forms of art-making, my practise explores and highlights the ways in which communication is being altered. Maintaining a neutral standpoint through my work, as to not push my own personal opinion on the topics at hand, I instead aim to prompt the audience to form a discussion and promote self-reflection in regards to the issues raised within my artwork.”
