"Emma is keen on creating textile-based projects that boast a fun and quirky theme. Whether it be related to music or inspired by bright colours of the 70’s psychedelic era, her work is turned into simple flowing shapes, embodied in the form of a tufted rug. As well as the use of textiles, Emma also creates bold and opaque pieces often with the use of gouache or even drawn up digitally."

A recent graduate of a BA Hons Illustration degree at The University of Wolverhampton, I am an illustrator-cum-textile designer, who boasts a keen interest in all things out of the ordinary. Recent work has led me to create textile pieces inspired by music and my love of homewares. I love to play around with textures to create simple artworks where the texture can stand out. Previously, I have adored using paints such as watercolour and gouache to create whimsical children’s picture book illustrations. Throughout my work I often depict an animal figure which deeply relays my love of the natural world. I hope to use my passion for our environment and the dire need to act on the ongoing project of sustainability, to encapsulate the beauty of nature. Whilst creating work I am always listening to new albums to inspire me and help to engage my creativity.
