Daniel Rawlinson

"A thoughtful graphic designer, aspiring to impact audiences through considered visual communication. I’ve been interested in graphic design since 2010. I grew up not having much money for things I wanted like video games consoles, toys that I’d find fun, clothes that I liked, so instead I would draw out the things that I liked, and I would make posters out of A4 printer paper. I would find a cardboard box, tape paper to it and try to design the packaging. I would imagine a new games console that would rival the Wii and Playstation and design logos in the back of my schoolbooks. I loved the feeling of seeing great design and that’s something that I, myself aspire to create; I want my audiences to share that excitement. I love branding, posters, motion graphics, and packaging design, and try to make an impact on the world by creating experiences for people through those mediums. The best and most useful aspects of the graphic design course at Wolverhampton are the opportunities given, the brilliant lecturers, and the honest but constructive criticism. There are always opportunities given whether it’s interesting projects to work on, live briefs, guest speakers, and you feel as though you learn so much with any conversation with the lecturers. They also go above and beyond for the students and are really passionate about design.
