Bria Horton

"I began my fashion journey 5 years ago. Upon leaving school I completed a BTEC Extended Diploma in Fashion achieving a triple D*. This enabled me to enrol in a BA (Hons) Fashion course at the University of Wolverhampton, where I am currently developing my final collection. The skills that I have gained have given me the confidence to begin a small business and I am currently producing hair accessories for delivery throughout the UK. After graduating I am hoping to expand my business, travel and gain a teaching qualification so I can pass on the skills I have learned to others."

14.06 is my final collection that has been inspired by the memories I have of my Grandparents. This date celebrates their wedding anniversary and the collection was inspired by their love for each other, drawing on the particular memory of my Grandad buying my Nan roses on this day every year. This gave me the inspiration to use these flowers as an initial concept. Whilst designing pieces for this collection I have experimented with different techniques, materials and colour palettes. I have incorporated all of the skills and techniques that I have gained during the past 5 years of studying fashion. Roses brought joy and happiness to my Grandparents and I hope that my final pieces have the same emotional impact upon the wearer and audience.
