Wolverhampton School of Art Graduate Showcase 2021
We are delighted to announce our end of year graduate showcase highlighting the work of our final year students in Art, Design and Screen based subjects.
Over a series of weeks we had a film crew on site in the School of Art recording student experiences and their work. The last year, has undoubtedly been a huge challenge to students and staff in the School of Art. We have found ourselves working at home in make-shift spaces and often with limited materials and kit. Our staff and students have been hugely inventive in finding opportunities and outlets to keep learning live - and this, in itself, is a testament to our creativity and resilience as a sector.
We hope our graduate showcase will demonstrate how an art degree builds student’s confidence and skills like problem solving, communication, digital prowess and critical thinking that are so needed in the current world and society.
We hope you enjoy our showcase and take some time with us to celebrate the achievements of this year group. We also hope to see you again soon as we look forward to a new academic year, the opening of screen school and British Art Show 9 in the spring.

Artists Sarah Byrne and Sarah Zacharek are the entangled identities behind Sarah & Sarah – a collaborative voice which approaches the art world in a parodic way.
Anchored by their primary interest – food – Sarah & Sarah are led by a series of text conversations exchanged on an online shared document. Within these dialogues, interests in culture, flavours, memories, music, and humour amount to exchanges akin to the late-night conversations had with friends, where everything seems funnier in that moment than others might understand.
Sarah & Sarah hosted a Twitter Takeover in response to the Wolverhampton School of Art’s Graduate Showcase 2021. They invoted the audience to respond and share their thoughts, experiences and memories, posting images, challenges, propositions and snack suggestions. Think of it as a pairing a wine to your meal - except instead of a meal, it’s a Graduate Showcase, and instead of wine, it’s snacks.
Post to #mysoagradshow to join the conversation.
