Occupational English Test (OET) Preparation

OET is an international English language test designed to assess the language communication skills of healthcare professionals seeking to register and practise in an English-speaking environment.  It is now formally recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the General Medical Council (GMC). With the addition of a new approved OET test for Pharmacists,  the OET can help international students wishing to work in the UK to demonstrate their English language proficiency.

The University of Wolverhampton’s International Academy has previously provided a range of OET preparation provision including a Short Preparation Course, a Proof Reading Service and Workshops.  In addition, we offer bespoke courses for nurses in Healthcare Trusts and Hospitals.  However, as we continue to build on our existing links with local hospitals and increase our work with the University of Wolverhampton’s Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing (FHEW), to embed and integrate the new OET Preparation provision for nurses in the BSc (Hons) International Nursing Studies (Top Up) course, our academic staff will be focussing solely on this development in the medium term.
