SOLVD CASE STUDY: IngPro Limited

IngPro Ltd are manufacturing business consultants operating in the UK and Central & Eastern Europe, helping manufacturing companies to grow their business, through distribution, acquisition & business establishment. As manufacturing business consultants, IngPro Ltd supports manufacturers in delivering improved profitability and cash flow by developing powerful business strategies and making step changes in productivity.

The business has two key strands; supporting UK customers on developing their facilities and business in Central & Eastern Europe and working with SMEs in Central and Eastern Europe to develop their manufacturing businesses. All projects start with on-site visits to inspect client facilities and perform a business diagnostic. The diagnostic is to establish the current status of the client’s business, and what improvements could be made, as well as meeting senior staff and owners, and determining the suitability of working together. With more than 90% of business being in Central Europe, and with significant travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, alternative methods of work needed to be found.

IngPro Ltd contacted the SOLVD project to explore potential solutions within the Extended Reality (XR) space. Having explored teleconferencing solutions using smart phones & tablets, IngPro Ltd were keen to focus on the use of Augmented Reality for remote tours and inspections of client manufacturing facilities to ensure a hands-free experience. The use of Augmented Reality also provided us with the opportunity to explore options to automate the data gathering aspects of the inspection process.

Experts in Extended Reality & Immersive Technologies within the SOLVD project worked with IngPro Ltd to identify a series of potential solutions using commercial hardware along with both commercial and bespoke software. As part of the collaboration, IngPro Ltd were presented with a detailed report containing a technological roadmap for implementation, in addition to a CBA and SWOT analysis.

The collaboration with the SOLVD has provided IngPro Ltd with a clear understanding of different XR-based solutions and an implementation strategy for the business to expand its offering as part of continued growth.

Paul Sefton , Managing Director of IngPro Limited commented :

Working with SOLVD was very easy, and they delivered a comprehensive report very quickly. After a video review, the report was further developed to include further options commercially available.

It was a great first step for IngPro Ltd. We need to change how we work, in a way that exceeds our client’s expectations. To do that have to sell the use and convenience of these technologies to our clients, to significantly reduce travel, and our carbon footprint, whilst giving the best possible experience for the client and still perform our diagnostics and review of the client’s facilities.
