Pat was born and raised in Handsworth, Birmingham.

After leaving school he joined Zip Theatre Company, based in Wolverhampton,

where he completed acting and music as a drummer. After leaving Zip and trying his hand at a few non-theatre related jobs, he returned to Zip Theatre Company to take up the position of Stage Manager. Pat then commenced working for larger theatres, around the midlands area, learning more about large-scale theatre.  He eventually settled at the Arena Theatre, working as a Theatre Technician, before moving onto the Drama and then eventually Dance Department, based at the Performance Hub, in Walsall.
