Mr Tim Steele
Tim is responsible for the development and implementation of the Internationalisation strategy.
Tim's particular focus is to drive recruitment within the UK, as well as the developing of Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships in key geographical locations throughout the world. He supports the University’s Research and Knowledge Transfer growth agendas.
Tim was appointed to the role of Pro-Vice Chancellor in June 2019. With over 20 years' Higher Education experience, 15 of which have been within the international environment, Tim brings first-hand strategic leadership and experience. He is a regular speaker overseas and nationally on the internationalisation agenda, focusing on how ‘Working in Partnership’ brings mutual benefit for all.
Tim’s considerable international experience covers Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Oman, Mauritius, India and Qatar. In Cyprus, he was a Board Member of UCLan’s Branch campus. He has extensive experience of working in China, having developed one of the first joint schools with Hebei University.
In April 2020, Tim was appointed Asia Network Chair for the Universities UK International (UUKi).
Outside of work, Tim is a keen swimmer and enjoys going to the gym. He is musical director of a choir.
