School of Performing Arts 

We are pleased to announce that we are now offering Performing Art Masterclasses. These workshops can be delivered at the Performance Hub at our Walsall Campus. These masterclasses give students the chance to use our onsite state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and technology. All masterclass workshops are FREE, last 90 minutes and are for circa 10-15 students, for full details please email the School and College team.

Acting for Camera: This workshop introduces key approaches to acting for the screen. 

Scenography: From Page to Stage. An introduction to design for set and lighting 

Audio Technology and Production

Recording Studio session: Come and take part in a session in one of our recording studios. 

Introduction to live sound: take a look behind the scenes of our Black Box Theatre.

Dance and Creative Performance

 

Dancer/Artist/Athlete: Conditioning techniques to maximise dance performance.

Dance through the digital frame: Using the camera to create and capture movement and meaning.

Future Tech: 3D scanning, Zbrush and 3D printing for film special effects.

Beyond the Score: creative composition workshop exploring creative forms of music notation.

Community Development Work and Youth Work masterclass

This masterclass explores different approaches to participation that young people can follow to promote social change.  The session will include interactive group work activities to help students identify and reflect upon the different ways in which young people participate in their communities, nationally and globally.

Social Care and Housing Masterclass

This is an informative and interactive masterclass focussed on our new BA (Hons) Housing and Social Care course. The session will involve students engaging and discussing current important topical issues that are prevalent in society today. 

Community Development Work and Youth Masterclass

This masterclass will be aimed at anyone who is interested in our New BA (HONS) Community Development Work and Youth Work Course 

This masterclass explores different approaches to participation that young people can follow to promote social change. The session will last approximately 50 minutes and will include interactive group work activities to help students identify and reflect upon the different ways in which young people participate in their communities, nationally and globally.
