Meet our team

Emily Day – Recruitment coordinator 

Emily works with schools and colleges across the West Midlands as well as working closely with colleagues in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She has worked for several different Universities in recruitment and widening participation roles and has over 12 years of experience working in the education sector. Emily also has a voluntary role as the HELOA Midlands group chair.

Laura Janavicius - Recruitment coordinator

Laura works with schools and colleges across the West Midlands as well as having connections and working closely with the Faculty of Education Health and Wellbeing.  Laura has worked at the University of Wolverhampton for 9 years and has been in this role since 2020.  Laura spent a number of years working in the NHS, in Project and Contract Management forming relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.  Laura enjoys discovering new walking routes. 

Joshua Barnett – Recruitment Co-ordinator 

Joshua is the Recruitment Assistant for the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences. He attends UCAS and UK University Search fairs as well as deliver Higher Education talks in schools and colleges. Working at the University of Wolverhampton for the past 7years, he has previous experience in other education institutions. Joshua has a keen interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Poonam Sangrey - Recruitment Assistant

Poonam works in the UK Recruitment team working closely with schools and colleges across the West Midlands. Poonam works collaboratively with colleagues in the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences. She has worked in Education for 10 years and has a wealth of experience in the Education sector. Poonam is also an alumni of the University graduating from a Master’s degree in Education.

Michelle Haliburton – Recruitment Assistant

Michelle recently joined the UK recruitment team and works with schools and colleges within the West Midlands, Telford and Wales. She brings a wealth of experience from within the education, predominately FE sector, and sat her degree in Media, Communication and Marketing with University of Wolverhampton. Michelle’s role is linked to the Faculty of Science and Engineering although she is working on developing her knowledge of the full University offer.

Amarjit Duggal – Recruitment Assistant

Ama is an enthusiastic and full of life individual who works in the UK Recruitment Team as a Student Recruitment Assistant aligned to the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing.  She thoroughly enjoys her role and works in collaboration with schools and colleges, and communities across the UK delivering informative presentations, discovery subject workshops both on and off campus for the general public and students in years 11, 12 and 13.  

Ama is also a Co-Opted Governor in a local secondary school.  She enjoys arranging her personal events outside of work with friends and family and is currently learning how to play the drum (dhol).
